Prefalux visit their reserve Nicole

Between 2022 and 2024, Prefalux and the Fondation Hëllef fir d’Natur together planted over 700 trees in the Nicole nature reserve

The project officially began on the "Nationalen Dag vum Bam" on November 17, 2022; two days later, the first major planting campaign brought together around 60 Prefalux employees.

Over the course of 3 years, 4 areas were ecologically enhanced:

• transformation of an old spruce plantation into a diversified hardwood forest,
• planting of suitable species on an exposed plateau,
• creation of a traditional orchard with regional fruit varieties,
• and development of juniper areas to reinforce rare habitats.

Maintenance work (pruning, preparation for mechanical mowing) complemented these efforts to ensure sustainable site management.

This project was also part of Prefalux's 50th anniversary – featuring the symbolic planting of 50 trees each year. The initiative also highlighted gratitude toward employees and their families, who were invited to actively participate in planting days, complete with meals and moments of conviviality.

And the adventure continues: new plantings are planned for the autumn of 2025, marking the beginning of a new three-year cycle starting in 2026, dedicated to biodiversity, soil protection, and the creation of natural habitats.
