Prefalux visit their reserve Nicole

Between 2022 and 2024, Prefalux and the Fondation Hëllef fir d'Natur will work together to plant over 700 trees in the Nicole nature reserve.

The project was officially launched at the "Nationalen Dag vum Bam" on 17.11.2022, and two days later, the first large-scale planting action brought together around 60 Prefalux employees.

Over the 3 years, 4 areas were ecologically enhanced:

  • transformation of a former spruce plantation into a diversified deciduous forest,
  • planting adapted species on an exposed plateau,
  • creation of a traditional orchard with regional fruit varieties,
  • and development of juniper areas to reinforce rare habitats.

Maintenance work (pruning, mechanical mowing) has complemented these efforts to ensure sustainable management of the sites.

The project was also part of Prefalux's 50th anniversary - with the symbolic planting of 50 trees each year. The initiative also emphasized recognition of employees and their families, who were invited to take an active part in the planting days, with meals and social events.

And the adventure continues: in autumn 2025, new plantings are planned, marking the start of a new three-year cycle from 2026, dedicated to biodiversity, soil protection and the creation of natural habitats.

🌿 A strong commitment to the future thanks to the support of Prefalux, especially Mr Friob.
