A small mussel—a real success!
Since 2005, we have been raising freshwater pearl mussels at our breeding facility in Kalbermillen. In 2018, these mussels—which originated from our 2016 breeding program—were released into the Our River.
And today, several years later, we have some great news: 331 of those mussels are still in the Our River!
This shows that our efforts to protect and preserve this extremely rare species are paying off.
A small mistake, but a big step for biodiversity in the Our River!
