The Our Valley, a natural jewel in eastern Luxembourg, is home to a winding river with clear waters, ideal for wildlife. Formerly present, the Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) disappeared due to pollution, habitat loss, and hunting. Today, thanks to ecological restoration efforts, the river once again offers a suitable habitat: natural banks, dense vegetation, wetlands, and significantly improved water quality. As an ecological corridor connecting neighboring regions, the valley could soon welcome back this discreet ambassador of wild rivers. The return of the otter would be a powerful symbol of the success of conservation actions and the resilience of our ecosystems. We are therefore committed to improving its habitat to increase the likelihood of its return. Support us in this project!
