Project with Banque de Luxembourg

Banque de Luxembourg supports us in preserving biodiversity and local freshwater reserves, as well as the freshwater mussel breeding station. Mussels act as umbrella species: they feed by filtering water, thus restoring the cleanliness of a watercourse over a short distance; undigested particles settle to the bottom, serving as food for various aquatic insects and crustaceans; the anchoring of mussels and the movement of young mussels constantly reshuffle the gravelly bottom, creating a favorable environment for fish, which spawn in favorable conditions and then attract natural enemies, etc.
